When I discovered skateboarding, my entire life changed. There was freedom in its movement, art in its delivery, and it had an electrical charge that amplified the rebellion already within me. As a kid, I pored over Thrasher magazines, collected stickers, and pined over decks that I could never afford. One of the boards that I coveted the most was Mike McGill’s skull and snake deck, its bold lines demanding attention (beautifully crafted and rendered by VCJ, the artist). I credit their design as one of the reasons that I am an artist today.

This is my tribute to McGill, VCJ, and the inspiration that they provided to me.
