I had the absolute pleasure of working with MailChimp’s amazing creative team to paint some of their office space walls.
MailChimp’s mascot, Freddie, has been lovingly recreated as a vinyl figure in a variety of ways over the past several years, giving him humorous likenesses to things like Skeletor, peaches, or The Yeti. The names of the meeting rooms on this floor reference those iterations, so the company wanted to represent his changing shapes in the floor-wide design.
p.s. I painted this right before Halloween and did so only at night. The security team at Ponce City Market would jokingly tell me about reports of a ghostly woman that would roam the halls after midnight. I didn’t see her, but I did get a little creeped out in the “The Shining” bathrooms on that floor. *shivers*
